2 days trip to Zagora Dunes


This trip starts from Marrakech and proceeds to Zagora Sand Dunes via Tizin'tichka Pass (2260m) which is in the heart of the Atlas Mountains. Keep your eyes open for the Berber villages tucked away in the mountainside and you will also visit Ait Ben Haddou, one of the world’s most magnificent Kasbahs. These authentic Berber villages have considerable world heritage where many movies has been filmed such as Lawrence of Arabia, Hidalgo, The Black Stallion Returns, Babel, Cleopatra, so no....

The trip goes through Ouarzazate the south pearl with its’ beautiful cinema studios, the Kasbah  Taourirt, the old Galoui Palace, the river through the Draa Valley with many Kasbahs, the long palm tree oasis which produces famous dates, the village of Agdz, and then Zagora.. The massive adobe structures we see along the route are divided into houses that serve as habitations for families of these Kasbah villages where life has continued unchanged over many centuries.
Zagora is also known as "the gate of the desert” it's the last town before The palm oases where the road dissolve into nothing but sand and rocks as we drive through the sand dunes.
Day 1: We leave at 7:00 am toward the Ouarzazate, 200 km through the Atlas Mountains (beautiful landscapes and Berber authentic villages)
First Big stop is to visit ‘Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah’ a 16th century fortress classified by UNESCO as a human international patrimony big movies were turned there(Gladiator, Laurence of Arabia, kingdom of heaven, Sand Brothers...)
We stop for Lunch in a nice restaurant at the edge of the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah
After Lunch we drive to Ouarzazate (the capital city of cinema in Africa), after this we drive toward Agdz and Zagora, visit of the Draa Valley and its Palmeraie.
We ride camels for an hour and half in the middle of the dunes; we stop in the middle of the dunes for pictures
We arrive to the camp half hour before the sunset, we have a mint tea with the nomads in the camp we go over the dunes to watch the sunset
After this we go for a walk to discover the desert, you will have the opportunity to see the most amazing sky you have ever seen in your life
Back to the camp for dinner, after dinner the nomads play music for us around a fire
We sleep under nomads tents; we awake you half an hour before sunrise
Day 2: After breakfast we get into the vans drive back to Marrakech. We stop for lunch in Ouarzazate; you get back to Marrakech around 17:30
The price is 80 Euros per person
the price includes, an A/C Van, an English speaking guide the camel ridethe night in the camp with dinner and breakfast

Entrance fees for the visit of the monuments, lunches and drinks are not included
