Three hours’ drive crossing the Tichka pass in the Atlas Mountains; Where the steep mountain hillsides are clustered with fortified villages (Kasbahs). then you get to the gateway of the Sahara desert and oases
Arriving to the kasbah around 11:00 a.m; You’ll spend the day exploring the UNESCO world heritage site of Aït Benhaddou Kasbah. the fortified village is used as a backdrop for shooting more than 20 films; and was one of the most important fortress strongholds on the old salt caravan route; where traders brought slaves, gold and ivory from Saharian Africa to Marrakech.
After lunch in a nice restaurant near the Kasbah; you’ll visit the old Pacha Glaoui Kasbah in Ouarzazate. This kasbah has an amazing story behind, intrinsically linked to the formation of the modern Morocco .
After this we’ll take you to visit to the Atlas film studios; where many box office movies such as the Mummy, Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia have been turned.
